Top Five Mountains in Pakistan

In northern Pakistan there are many charming valleys and mountains. Pakistan is home to the second highest mountain in the world, the K2. It also has the honor of having two of the ten highest in the world and five of the thirteen highest mountains in the world. The Karakoram and Hindukush mountain ranges in northern Pakistan have many other high mountains. Most of these peaks are located in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan, with the exception of some more than 7,000 meter high mountains of the Hindukush Mountains, which are located in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Punjab. Pakistan has five peaks of more than 8000 meters and at least 74 mountains with altitudes between 7000 and 8000 meters, 59 between 6000 and 7000 meters altitude, 30 mountains between 5000 and 6000 meters and 18 mountains between 4000 and 5000 meters. Here are five highest mountains of Pakistan;

K2 (8,611 meters) - second highest point in the world - highest of Pakistan:
The second highest mountain in the world K2 is located in Skardu on the border between Pakistan and China in Gilgit-Baltistan in Pakistan. This is a very challenging mountain for mountaineers. It has the second highest death rate among all over 8000 meter high mountains. Four climbers, who had managed to reach the top, died. It is located in Karakoram Range.

Nanga Parbat (8,126 m) - ninth highest in the world - second highest in Pakistan:
It is located in the Diamer district in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan. This mountain is also called Killer Mountain for its highest death rate of eight thousand. The mountains are noticeable for the difficulty of the ascent and for the tragedies involved.

Gasherbrum I (8,080 m) - 11th highest rank in the world - third highest in Pakistan:
Gasherbrum I is also known as K5. Like K2, it is also on the border between Pakistan and China in Skardu, Gilgit-Baltistan. It was the first climber in July 1958 by Pete Schoening from America.

Broad Peak (8,051 m) - 12th highest rank in the world - fourth highest value Pakistan:
The Broad Peak is 8 kilometers from the K2. It is also called K3. The mountain was called Broad Peak because it has a peak that is more than 1.5 kilometers long. The first registered successful attempt was undertaken by Austrian mountaineer Fritz Wintersteller in June 1957 with a team of three climbers.

Gasherbrum II (8,035 m) - 13th highest mountain in the world - fifth highest mountain in Pakistan:
It is also known as K4. The mountain was climbed in July 1956 for the first time by Austrian mountaineer Fritz Moravec with a team of two men. Mostly the mountain is climbed from the southwest, as it is comparatively less dangerous to climb from this side.
